Say hello to your new favorite appetizer! This Dirty Martini Dip has all the flavors of the classic cocktail in a creamy dip that’s packed with the flavors of blue cheese and olives. Perfect for dipping pretzels, crackers, or any of your favorite dippers!
There’s just something about a good Dirty Martini. It’s salty, it’s briny, and if it’s dirty enough… it tastes just like olives! Up until a few years ago I would have sworn I didn’t like them, but they’ve definitely grown on me. Or maybe I’ve just perfected the art. Either way… these days they’re definitely a favorite.
So when I figured out you can make dirty martinis into a dip… let’s just say I was determined to make the BEST Dirty Martini Dip ever. And this is it!
Made from a simple combination of cream cheese, sour cream, blue cheese, olives, and a few seasonings, it tastes just like the dirty martinis we all know and love. It’s creamy, it’s PACKED with flavor, and best of all, it couldn’t be easier to make!
We dipped ours in crispy bagel chips, but it would be delicious with crusty bread, Triscuits, pretzels, or even fresh veggies. In other words, it’s a super easy, versatile, delicious dip that’s guaranteed to be a favorite at your next gathering!
What you’ll need for this recipe
Cream cheese – Cream cheese forms the creamy base of this recipe. I used 8 ounces of full fat plain cream cheese (softened) but you can feel free to substitute a lower fat variety if you prefer. I wouldn’t suggest using flavored cream cheese because of the other strong flavors in this recipe.
Sour cream – Sour cream balances out the cream cheese to make this dip extra smooth and creamy. I used 1 cup of full fat sour cream.
Blue cheese – Blue cheese is the perfect complement to the olives and other flavors in this dip. I used 4 ounces of crumbled blue cheese. Feel free to adjust the amount according to your taste preferences.
Pimiento stuffed olives – Olives are an essential part of any dirty martini, and an important part of this dip recipe. I used 3/4 cup chopped Pimiento Stuffed Queen Olives. You could also substitute blue cheese stuffed olives and omit the extra blue cheese.
Seasonings – A simple combination of onion powder, garlic powder, and olive juice are all you need to perfectly season this dip. Feel free to add fresh ground pepper as well!
Is there alcohol in Dirty Martini Dip?
No! There’s no alcohol in this Dirty Martini Dip. It gets its name from the other classic dirty martini flavors in it – namely, the olives and the blue cheese. You could definitely add a splash of gin or vodka if you’d like… but neither is included in the recipe.
How to make Dirty Martini Dip
Make the creamy base – The first step is to make the base by combining the softened cream cheese, sour cream, olive juice, onion powder, garlic powder, and half of the blue cheese. Use a hand mixer on medium speed to fully combine the ingredients.
Stir in the olives and blue cheese – Next, you’ll be stirring in the remaining blue cheese and chopped olives. You want to stir them in by hand rather than using the hand mixer in this step.
Serve – The final step is serving! Transfer the dip into a serving bowl, surround it by pretzels, crackers, or any of your favorite dippers, and enjoy!
