The BEST Air Fryer Broccoli! Made with just a handful of ingredients, this broccoli is perfectly tender-crisp and drizzled with a delicious creamy soy ginger sauce. A unique, flavorful side dish for any meal!
If you ask me, veggies don’t have to be boring. In fact… they never should be! There are SO many different ways to do them – from the way you prep them to the way to cook them to the way you season them – and I’m all about keeping things interesting.
This Air Fried Broccoli is one of our latest favorites, and it’s not only interesting, but also incredibly delicious!
It starts, of course, with the broccoli, which is perfectly cooked in the air fryer with hardly any oil. But it doesn’t stop there… because the sauce is absolutely to die for! Made with just 4 ingredients, it’s savory, sweet, and pairs perfectly with the broccoli.
Top it off with spicy red pepper flakes and toasted sesame seeds, and you have yourself a delectable appetizer, snack, or side dish. Just be prepared to crave it… because you most definitely will!
Ingredients
For the broccoli:
- 8 cups broccoli florets (about 2 pounds)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optionally use a combination of olive and sesame oil)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
For the sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
For the garnish:
- red pepper flakes
- sesame seeds
Instructions
Season the broccoli – place the broccoli florets in a large mixing bowl or gallon size ziploc bag. Add the oil(s), salt, and pepper and mix well to coat.
Make the sauce – in a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
Air fry – spray the inside of an air fryer basket with olive oil using an oil mister (**do NOT use aerosol cooking spray, as it can damage the inside of the basket**). Add about 1/3 of the broccoli and air fry at 390° for 6-8 minutes, removing the basket to shake the broccoli halfway through. Once broccoli is done, remove it from the basket and repeat until all broccoli is done.
Garnish – drizzle air fried broccoli with sauce and garnish with red pepper flakes and sesame seeds as desired.
Recipe variations
- Use any of your favorite seasonings to season the broccoli before air frying
- Swap the creamy soy ginger sauce for Honey Mustard Sauce, Cilantro Lime Sauce, Sweet & Sour Sauce, or Garlic Aioli
- For an extra spicy kick, add 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper to the sauce
- Use a combination of broccoli & cauliflower
- Omit the sauce and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese after air frying
Make-ahead, storage & reheating tips
This recipe is easy to prep in advance, and stores well too! To prep ahead of time, wash & chop your broccoli and even prepare the sauce, then store them both in airtight containers in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use them.
Leftovers can both be stored in the refrigerator, as well, and reheated in the air fryer, oven, or stovetop.
